Born and raised in Mexico City, Emiliano Cruz Villanueva is a multimedia artist based in Vienna and Mexico City.

 

He writes fiction, that exists in the cracks between gothic tales and contemporary life,  poetry and autofiction.

 

His work has appeared in The Vanity Papers and The Witch House, Mukoli: Magazine for Peace, and Kill Your Darlings.

 

His first novella, Echoes and Empty Spaces, was published in October 2024, and was longlisted for the Young Storyteller Award 2024.

 

He believes that storytelling is an endless source of understanding and a tool that can and should change the world.
